Cole Hamels is an American professional baseball player. He is a starting pitcher, and has played for the Philadelphia Phillies, the Texas Rangers, and the Chicago Cubs, of Major League Baseball (MLB). Cole was the world series MVP in 2008 while playing for the Philadelphia Phillies.
He is married to Heidi Strobel, with whom he has four children.
Cole’s paternal grandfather was John Francis Hamels (the son of Adrian/Adrianus Franciscus Hamels and Mary Van Loon). John was born in Massachusetts. Adrian was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the son of Adrianus Franciscus Hamels and Antonia Margaretha Susanna Swagemakers.
