Wrestling legend and WWE hall of famer Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka has been arrested on charges of murder and manslaughter in relation to the 1983 murder of his then girlfriend Nancy Argentino.

Snuka was arrested following the suspicious circumstances following the death back in 1983, but charges were never filed. A media expose by ‘The Morning Call’ led to a grand jury being convened and has finally led to the 72 year old’s arrest.

On May 10, 1983, Snuka was in town for a WWF taping at the Allentown Fairgrounds. After the taping, Snuka had beers with his fellow wrestlers. He then went to his motel room, where he found Argentino “gasping for air and oozing yellow fluid from her mouth and nose,” the Morning Call reported. She was pronounced dead at a hospital hours later. An autopsy said her case should be treated as a homicide, but charges were never filed.

He’s being charged now with one count of third-degree murder and one count of involuntary manslaughter. Snuka maintained his innocence after the incident and reiterated that in his autobiography. It seems the ghosts of the past has caught up to him 32 years later.

WWE released this statement regarding the issue: “WWE expresses its continued sympathy to the Argentino family for their loss. Ultimately this legal matter will be decided by our judicial system.”
